Across Aotearoa, our volunteer lifeguards have saved thousands of lives and ensured millions have come home safe after a day at the beach since 1910.
Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) is truly unique, delivering proactive surf lifeguarding and essential emergency rescue services, a range of public education beach safety programmes and campaigns, member education, training and development as well as a highly respected sport. People are at the heart of everything we do; we support our clubs, volunteers, and each other through our collective values. This pivotal role provides targeted support to clubs in the Otago / Southland area with the aim of enhancing member development, supporting club sustainability and growing capability.
The clubs supported are: Oreti SLSC, Kaka Point SLSC, Brighton SLSC, St Clair SLSC, St Kilda SLSC, and Warrington SLSC.
You will work collaboratively with the Regional Manager and wider team on opportunities and projects relating to lifesaving, training, sport, and community education. You will coordinate and manage key areas such as club and member development courses: Instructor Courses, Patrol Captains, Area Examiner Briefings, First Aid Courses, Intro to Surf Coach, Official Level 1, IRB Development Camps, Junior Guard School, Intermediate Lifeguard School, and the Rookie Lifeguard Programme.
