The opportunity: You will play a key role in AIA New Zealand's Infrastructure Team, supporting and enhancing cloud operations by working with teams across NZ, AU, and Group to implement optimal cloud solutions. You will oversee best practices for deployment and maintenance, provide guidance to development teams, ensure application performance and quality, and manage cloud environments following security and FinOps best practices.
Key responsibilities include: Supporting the operational governance of AIA's multi-cloud environment, primarily Azure and AWS components.
Setting up monitoring tools to track and manage cloud infrastructure and applications.
Developing and maintaining scalable, secure, and efficient Azure architecture.
Collaborating with the development teams to integrate applications with Azure Services.
Leading efforts to ensure Azure security, compliance and governance adhere to group standards.
Developing solutions in line with Group Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) processes and operational guides to ensure a smooth cloud transition.
Optimising Azure costs and resource utilisation.
Collaborating with service providers to ensure timely delivery of operational processes (backup, patching, provisioning, monitoring) that meet AIA standards.
Driving operational efficiency through enhancements and identify automation opportunities using Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
Ensuring management and compliance of public cloud technologies adhere to audit standards.
Working with Local and Group Technical Risk and Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) to meet all security requirements and standards.
Supporting provisioning of non-standard cloud services not covered under AIA service provider contracts.
Assisting with maintaining and securing each cloud platform.
Writing scripts and developing configuration templates for cloud automation.
Building a professional public cloud service with a focus on optimisation.
Assisting with the migration of the on-premises applications to Microsoft Azure.
Troubleshooting and resolving cloud related issues.
Mentoring and providing guidance to junior engineers.
Implementing and optimising automation tools and processes for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Ideally, you'll bring: Proficiency and strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong stakeholder management abilities.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Mathematics.
3+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on Azure.
Solid understanding of the five pillars of well-architected frameworks.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, and subject matter experts.
