CAF North provides assessment and intervention for young people, who present with moderate to severe mental health problems, and their families.
This role centralises around strong clinical / organisational skills and well-developed clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health settings.
We have a strong and supportive team who are committed to working with young people in Christchurch and the North of Canterbury.
We have a Permanent 0.6FTE position available working as a Social Worker - Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Service, North Community and Outreach Team (CAF North) based at Hillmorton.
Skills & Experience
Registered Social Worker
Have completed or on a pathway to complete a post graduate qualification relevant to this role.
Ideally have experience in outpatient case management (assessment and treatment), clinical teaching, supervision and supporting and championing change in clinical settings as part of a team

Whakamanaakitanga (ability to treat others with respect, encouragement and support)
Whakakotahitanga (ability to work in your role and actively participate and align this to our organisational values and goals)
Using an MDT approach, the team implements a range of interventions to support people in their journey.
Working collaboratively with consumers, their whanau and other significant people in their lives to ensure they have access to a high standard of care and are able to achieve equitable healthcare outcomes in their journey.
Pehea About You
You will have an interest in working with consumers who have a dual diagnosis
Be a strong team player who can also practice autonomously.
Able to promote the nursing perspective and advocate for your consumers.
Excellent physical and mental health assessment skills
Highly developed communication skills and an ability to connect with others in a meaningful and therapeutic manner.
Be a positive, compassionate and caring person with a genuine desire to work with this consumer group.
You must have a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) scoped for mental health.
