OTAGO VASCULAR DIAGNOSTICS DEPARTMENT OF SURGICAL SCIENCES Are you an enthusiastic motivated person wishing to work in the area of vascular disease? Then this job is for you. As a Clinical Research Nurse (Vascular) based at Southland Hospital, you will work for the Otago Vascular Diagnostics Assessment Unit, within the Section of Surgery. This is a fixed term (1 year), full time (37.5 hours) position, located in Invercargill. In this role you will provide vascular assessment and patient management, utilising specialised vascular testing and evaluate effectiveness of these procedures through clinical audit and research. We are seeking candidates who are champions for the profession of research nursing, who can promote current issues for nursing and health in NZ and internationally. Successful candidates will also have: Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a registered nurse. A current Nursing Council of New Zealand annual practising certificate. Experience with a health care team as a professional resource in speciality/practice area. Practice within current government policies, codes, guidelines, and legislation impacting on area of speciality. Demonstrated ability to maintain the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and biculturalism. A working knowledge of computers and databases. Comprehension of research practice and methodology. Working knowledge of consenting patients participating in research projects. Further details/Puroko The salary range for a Clinical Research Nurse is $78,552 - $99,250 per annum. About our team/Mo te tima The Otago Vascular Diagnostics Unit is a teaching laboratory active in training vascular technologists. We provide clinical diagnostic services to the Health NZ (Te Whatu Ora)South and wider community, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. The unit is part of the Vascular Research Group and works closely with other research groups at local, national and international levels. Many patients participate in a wide variety of research projects, enabling the unit to make valuable contributions to the field of vascular research.
