Mo te turanga - About the role

The Youth Forensic team is a specialised, cohesive team working alongside the youth justice service. The team supports rangatahi who are engaged in offending behaviours and are experiencing emotional and/or mental health concerns. The team provides outreach across the district working collaboratively with providers.

In this Dunedin based role, you'll manage your own caseload, and you'll be committed to delivering excellence to rangatahi and their whanau in an age-appropriate and culturally appropriate manner, liaising effectively in partnership with community agencies to support rangatahi health and wellbeing. You will also provide reports under Section 333 when requested by Youth Court.

Mou ake - About you

You'll have a sound knowledge of appropriate youth-focused mental health interventions and provide specialised assessment and treatment, with a strong emphasis on family inclusion and family therapy for youth experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

To be considered, you must be registered with the NZ Psychologists Board with a Clinical Psychologist scope and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate. A current NZ driver's licence will also be required.

Utu whanui - Salary range

This role belongs to the Allied, Public Health, Scientific, and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($85,000 p.a) and Step 10 ($130,000 p.a).
