Korero mo te turanga - About the role To provide high quality clinical psychology service in the assessment and treatment of clients, ensuring clients' needs are met in a culturally, clinically and legally safe manner. Clinical psychologists work as part of multidisciplinary teams to provide psychological assessments and interventions to clients in hospital. They also provide a range of other services to support the development and function of their teams and the organisation as a whole, including case consultation, staff training and supervision, leadership, and involvement in service development activities. Mo to matou ropu - About our team The Regional Rehabilitation and Extended Care Service is a 24-hour inpatient service at Ratonga Rua Hospital, providing both longer-term care and intensive rehabilitation within secure and open settings. The service focuses on recovery and rehabilitation through providing people with the opportunity to learn new skills, gain independence, and empower community living. The Clinical Psychology team based at Tane Mahuta consists of one experienced consultant and the vacancy for another clinical psychologist to join our team. Mou - About you You will have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team that supports meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders. Essential experience and capability include: A sound knowledge of psychopathology and psychological theories. Knowledge of ICD10 diagnoses and at least one therapy model. Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat people experiencing coexisting mental health and addiction. Sound knowledge of psychometrics and experience with psychological testing. Ability to develop sound psychological formulations based on thorough assessments. Ability to provide interventions for clients with trauma. Ability to advise, consult, and educate clients and relevant others about treatment options. Ability to work alongside other mental health staff to provide psychological expertise. Ability to attend and actively participate in regular meetings for assessment, planning, and implementing treatment. Experience in facilitating groups and working with families would be advantageous. You must practice in a manner consistent with established ethical and clinical practice standards. Essential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations Minimum of a Master Degree in Psychology and Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or equivalent. Registration with NZ Psychologist Board, with Clinical Psychology Vocational Scope of Practice. Current annual practising certificate.
