Salary band - $85,000 - $130,000 p.a pro-rata, KiwiSaver and free on-site parking

Mo te turanga - About the role
The Regional Forensic Mental Health Service (RFMHS) provides forensic mental health input across Otago and Southland and includes a 15-bed medium secure inpatient ward 9A in Dunedin, Forensic Community teams and regional prison and court liaison services.
Ward 9A has a strong emphasis on linking people with family/whanau and support persons and reintegration into the wider community.
Focus on rehabilitation to assist patients with complex needs to reintegrate back to the community
Participate in individual and group therapies and contribute actively to the multi-disciplinary team
Assist with court processes and violence risk assessment and treatment
Ensure the continued wellbeing of consumers/tangata whaiora alongside other clinical psychologists to facilitate both inpatient and outpatient care
Professional development in psychological input into the care of mentally disordered prisoners, completion of court-ordered health assessor report and community follow up for consumers/tangata whaiora who have successfully re-established their lives in the community
Must be a Registered Clinical Psychologist with the Psychologist's Board of New Zealand and hold a current APC
Motivated team player with exceptional communication, group facilitation, and time management skills
Be passionate about and have a natural empathy for supporting people with mental illness
Proven competence, knowledge, and skills in clinical psychology with a strong knowledge of relevant and appropriate psychological assessments and evidenced based interventions
Thrive in a busy and diverse working environment, with the ability to work well in stressful situations

Utu whanui - Salary range
This role belongs to the DHBs/APEX Psychologists Multi-Employer Collective Agreement (June 2023 - June 2025) and falls between Step 1 ($85,000 p.a) and Step 10 ($130,000 p.a pro-rata).
In the interests of protecting our people and our patients, all appointments will be subject to the following:

Occupational health assessment
Police vetting/Ministry of Justice safety checks
Serious misconduct checks (previous Public Service departments and statutory Crown entities only)
