About the RoleTe Whatu Ora Taranaki is seeking a Trainee Clinical Cardiac Physiologist for our Cardiology and Respiratory department at Taranaki Base Hospital.
You would work as part of a dynamic team of Cardiac and Respiratory Physiologists, Cardiac Sonographers, Nurses, and Medical staff.
Exercise Treadmill testingAssistance with Chemical and Physical Perfusion ScansTransthoracic EchocardiographyTransoesophageal EchocardiographyPacemaker/ICD monitoring and interpretationDiagnostic Lung Function testingILR implantation and monitoringDiagnostic Coronary AngiographyA trainee's main duty includes performing Electrocardiographs (ECG), recognizing and interpreting arrhythmias, assisting with exercise tolerance stress testing (ETT), and various administrative duties specific to the Cardiac Physiology department, transitioning from fully supervised instruction to independent work after successful practical assessment.
About YouApplicants must be graduates or possess an appropriate health professional qualification requiring at least three years' tertiary level study, plus enrollment in the Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Technology (PGCertMedTech), via Otago University, ideally working towards the Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Technology (PGDipMedTech), endorsed in Cardiology.
