We are seeking an experienced Paediatric nurse to join our CNS WAIKIDS HOMECARE TEAM here at WAIKATO HOSPITAL.
As a successful CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST, you will play a key role in providing specialist nursing care, support and advice, both in hospital, remotely, in the homes of children with chronic and/or complex medical conditions.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly skilled, dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team. The senior leadership team within Child health see this as a development opportunity to enhance and build on existing skills preparing you for the future.
The CNS also provides specialist nursing information, support and education to a variety of health care professionals to enable the child to be cared for at home.
This is a rewarding and dynamic position, which has a significant role in empowering tamariki and their whanau.
Day to day you will be working with a team of senior nurses who have a vast and wide experience in Child Health, work alongside Paediatricians, wider MDT team.
This is a 0.6 FTE role, 24hrs per week Permanent position where you will work Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm.
Key responsibilities of the role:

Providing specialist nursing care and expertise, both in direct care delivery and in support of other staff in the management of a defined patient group/ area of speciality practice.
Researching, evaluating, developing and implementing standards of nursing practice in the specific area of practice.
Leads the development of pathways, protocols, and guidelines in the specific area of practice.
Provide educational support directly to nursing staff and or in partnership with the Nurse Educator.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
Minimum 4 years Paediatric experience
Experience caring for children with complex chronic health needs
NZ driving license
Proven leadership skills
Expert communication skills
Post Graduate certificate/diploma
