Clinical Nurse Specialist - The Roy Fagan Centre (523270) Department of HealthCommunity, Mental Health & WellbeingCMHW - MH & Statewide ServicesApplications must be submitted by Sunday 14 April, 2024 11:55 PMSunday 14 April, 2024 11:55 PM AESTAward/Classification: Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award, Registered Nurse, Grade 5Employment type: Full TimeRegion: SouthLocation: An exciting opportunity for A Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the dynamic and supportive Roy Fagan Centre team, providing high quality mental health care to older persons.As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Clinical Nurse Specialist:Provides expert knowledge utilising an advanced clinical framework in the management of consumers with complex mental health needs within the designated area of practice.Develops, implements, coordinates and evaluates relevant activities to improve patient outcomes within the multi-disciplinary team.Participates as an active member of the Adult Community Mental Health team in delivering case management, carer education, consultation and collaboration with GP's and significant others in provision of care to a designated number of consumers.The Role:Display advanced clinical practice skills and promotes best practices in adult community mental health nursing by acting as a resource person to other staff in the management of complex clinical issues.Undertake the provision of recovery focused specialist mental health assessments and assertive case management, using recognised assessment methods and evidence based interventions, for a designated number of clients within the community setting.As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, participates in the multi-disciplinary team review of clients, including supporting staff to develop, monitor and evaluate clinical outcome measures.Maintain appropriate records of assessments, interventions and specialised reports, and assist in the maintenance of appropriate records systemsNote: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The Roy Fagan Centre:The Roy Fagan Centre is a dynamic and supportive workplace within Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS), that prides itself on our collaborative and multidisciplinary team approach.We have a strong focus on supporting ongoing professional and career development and onthe relationship with patients, families and colleagues.Located in a scenic and peaceful location in Lenah Valley with free parking.Details of AppointmentPermanent full time day worker (with on-call)position working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicantApplicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification typeProfessional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annumSalary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.Current Driver's LicenseApplicants should note the following criteria are desirable:Extensive, relevant psychiatric nursing experience and/or is credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse by the Australian and New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses Inc. or equivalent.Holds, or is working towards, relevant tertiary qualifications.The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
