Clinical Nurse Specialist - Oncology

Hours between Monday – Friday 0800 - 1630

About the Role
The CNS will report to the Nurse Manager of Cancer and Chronic Conditions. The team consists of Gynaecologists, Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, advanced trainee's, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Registered Nurses and booking clerks.
The role will involve: nurse led clinics, encouragement of patient centred decision making, patient education, support and management of patients on systemic anticancer treatment, MDM support, education, nurse led assessment and review clinics, attendance at departmental meetings, professional development.
About the Team
We are a dedicated Gynaecology Cancer Care Team including Radiation Oncologists and Gynaecologists, and would like to expand our team to improve on our current model of care; with emphasis on being able to utilise CNS expertise and experience to better manage our cancer patients in the Waikato. We liaise with the Gynae-Oncology team in Auckland and are responsible for all gynaecology cancer patients in the region.
About you

Have a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
Have a minimum of 2 years NZ hospital experience
Have a minimum of post graduate certificate
Have some knowledge and/or experience in Oncology
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
