We are currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist with a Mental Health scope of practice who has expertise in trauma care to join our expanding mental health team based at the Northern Regional Corrections Facility. As a professional, you should be comfortable working in a diverse environment and possess resilience while respecting individuals' backgrounds. Our teams aim to exemplify expert clinical practice, with a strong emphasis on Humanising and Healing – valuing the human dignity and inherent mana of those under our care and their families. Familiarity with culturally appropriate healthcare delivery for Maori is essential.

This is a specialised nursing role that combines advanced clinical nursing practice with expertise in trauma care. You'll have a post-grad qualification in Nursing with scope of practice in Mental Health or be actively working towards one or possess equivalent learning. You'll demonstrate strong cultural competence, understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application, and have experience working with and for Maori communities. With specialised mental health nursing experience across primary/community, secondary, or tertiary settings, you'll be well-equipped to handle a variety of situations. You'll showcase relevant experience, particularly in working with individuals facing acute and complex mental health and/or addiction issues. Additionally, you'll have a solid grasp of the professional, ethical, and legislative requirements associated with providing mental health services.
This role is pro-rata 0.6FTE. The full salary range is $110,704 - 117,907 increasing to $114,025 - $121,444 from 1 July 2024.Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
