Our absolutely fabulous Clinical Nurse Manager has been lured back overseas. She is brilliant and we will miss her very much. So, we need a special someone to step into her shoes. It is a big job and not for the faint-hearted, but it is also a role of privilege which requires heart and compassion. The rewards of the job are many in terms of love and heart.

About the business

Kerikeri Retirement Village is a Charitable Trust that has been operating for almost 40 years and is governed by a Board of Directors.

Our Care Facility of 66 rooms is surrounded by 120 individual living units and we are in a growth phase in our village. We employ around 140 people across the retirement village and the aged care facility.

We're a values-based organisation that focuses on the individual people who live here, and we're supported by amazing, dedicated staff and volunteers. Combining us all we call ourselves a family, or whanau, of 400.

We are a hard-working bunch, but we love a laugh, so we need that special someone who is compassionate, caring and with a sense of fun.

About the role

Our care facility has three levels of care. We are an older style care facility, but our care and wellbeing are excellent. We have a large waiting list which the Clinical Nurse Manager manages.

We have a team of around 12 Registered Nurses and 55 Healthcare Assistants who have completed, or are currently undergoing, Careerforce training. We are keen on professional development and encourage and support all of our team to achieve further qualifications.

The position itself offers every type of nursing, a very varied workload with experienced staff, and you will have great support from the management team. There is of course plenty of clinical management to keep you on your toes.

Benefits and perks

The best thing about this job is the people; our residents and our staff plus our loyal band of volunteers. As a community-led organisation we enjoy much love and support from the whole village of Kerikeri.

There is a staff wellness programme with many features designed to support our very hard-working and dedicated team.

Other benefits include a fabulous location, regular hours and low traffic! A 'commute' in Kerikeri is generally just a few minutes. Or you might already live here?

Key responsibilities of the position will include:

Providing leadership to all clinical staff

Supporting and overseeing staff

Ensuring quality care and continuous improvement for a high-quality environment for our residents

Supporting our residents and their families

An attention to detail is essential

Knowledge of the certification system and adherence to the required regulatory and Health & Disability Standards.

Excellent stakeholder relationship management

Written and verbal communication skills of a high standard

An aptitude for problem solving

A willingness to undergo regular professional supervision

Applicants should have at least five years' experience in a leadership and nursing role or a similar position with relevant aged care experience and at least a current NZ Nursing Registration. It is desirable the applicant is an InterRAI assessor for Long Term Care Facility Assessment.

You must have a drive for success, and a genuine empathy for seniors and the aged care sector.

Apply in writing with CV and covering letter to Cheryl Silich . Applications close 5pm, Friday 27 September.
