Clinical Nurse Manager - Coronary Care UnitSubsidised onsite hospital gym membershipFree flu vaccinationsDiscounted goodsWe are excited to offer the position of Clinical Nurse Manager – Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Tauranga Hospital. We are building a new CCU ready to open in 2025. Once opened, the CCU will separate from the existing combined ICU/CCU and be its own entity. The CCU facility will have a total of 20 beds and will be supported by an Associate Clinical Nurse Manager.This role enables quality outcomes for Tangata Whaiora and ensures that departmental standards and care delivery align with Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand standards and contemporary coronary care service and practice. The role will contribute to and enable achievement of Te Pae Tata (Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022).This role involves working with a multi-disciplinary clinical team and liaising with other services that interface with coronary care services.You will be arriving at a time of change, as over a period of 18 months beginning in early 2024, we will be building the new coronary care unit facility and additional beds for the existing intensive care and high dependency facility.Initially in this new position, you will focus on contributing to the building of the new facility and planning relocation, recruitment, policy development, and recruitment to the nursing team. You will work in a partnership model with an existing Clinical Nurse Manager – ICU/HDU. A high level of collaboration and communication will be required until the Units are finally separated in mid-2025.This is a rare opportunity to lead a dedicated team during a period of substantial change. You will be leading transformation within the coronary care setting, implementing the new nursing model, and building the nursing workforce.There is a strong commitment to embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the service through the achievement of 'Toi Ora' – flourishing descendants of Toi. Improving health equity for Maori, Pacific, and disabled peoples are cornerstones of our health system transformation.You will be an enthusiastic, courageous, and passionate coronary care nursing clinician who is suitably experienced with excellent communication, problem-solving, coordination, flexibility, and critical thinking skills. Your engagement and relationship-building skills will be paramount to the success of this role.Experience in nursing leadership, including change management, quality, and performance is desired.We are looking for someone who:Is an excellent leader, pays attention to detail, and is a problem solver.Has contemporary coronary care qualifications, skills, and knowledge.Has experience in coronary care senior nursing roles, including change management and recruitment.Postgraduate diploma in nursing or actively working toward this.Remains calm under pressure and manages ambiguity.Has experience in successfully partnering with Maori patients and their whanau to deliver care that is culturally safe.It's important to us that we work in a positive team culture, and we welcome creativity, being open to a challenge, and thinking outside the box.
