Opportunity for an experienced senior RN to join our Advanced Nursing Team as a Clinical Nurse Advisor. About the job:
This is a permanent 0.9 FTE (36 hrs per week) position, and is essentially an 'after hours' role where you will be the senior clinical lead of the hospital on your shift.
You'll be the first responder to clinical emergencies, and support your colleagues to escalate care and manage clinical deterioration.
Shifts are PMs or nights Mon to Fri, and days or nights on weekends.
On each shift, you will be assigned to cover either Mercy or Ascot Hospital.
Responsibilities include: Managing staff, providing leadership and oversight of operational activities during after hours and weekendsProviding specialist, evidenced based, clinical support and expertise at the bedside to our nursing staffUsing advanced assessment skills to support the clinical assessment of patients causing concern and escalating as appropriateMonitoring staffing levels and adjusting as required to maintain safe staffingLiaising with our in-house Bureau to ensure bed allocations and casual staffing are managed appropriatelyAbout You: The role is ideally suited to an experienced RN who has: Current broad clinical experience - able to demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and leadershipExperience in the ICU/HDU or Emergency Department environment, within NZ/Australia/UKCurrent advanced clinical skills e.g.
cannulation, phlebotomy, ECG, catheterisationACLS certificationThe benefits:
