Clinical Learning and Development CoordinatorPosted: 16/01/2025Closing Date: 14/02/2025Job Type: Permanent - Part TimeLocation: DunedinJob Category: Human ResourcesJob DescriptionAbout the RoleThe Clinical Learning and Development Coordinator is responsible for developing learning frameworks, leading the professional development committee, ensuring learning opportunities are relevant and maximized for staff, with a focus on developing and implementing programs that mitigate clinical risk.This is a permanent, 0.7 FTE role to be worked within Monday - Friday hours.
This is a senior nursing role and as such the role may include being on the on-call roster.The successful applicant must have Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, pursuant to the Nurses Act 1977, as a Registered Nurse and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate.Specific Duties IncludeEnsure clinical education frameworks support best practiceDeliver and facilitate clinical orientation and clinical mandatory trainingPartner with department managers to ensure clinical risks are mitigated with appropriate education programsSupport the coordination of PDRP, NETP and CAP programsOversee Mercy's Clinical e-learning system to ensure records are accurate, resources are current, relevant and availableDesired Skills and ExperienceSkills and ExperienceExperience developing and delivering clinical trainingRegistered nurse with relevant and up-to-date clinical practiceExcellent communication skills both written and verbalA high degree of interpersonal skills to enable effective consultations, facilitation and presentationsComputer literacy with comfort utilising an e-learning platform, and Microsoft productsA relevant post graduate qualification and current PDRP portfolioTo be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants will be required to provide vaccination history.Why Mercy Hospital?Joining the team at Mercy means more than just having a job, but being part of a team that works together towards a shared purpose.
