Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation TrustAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time position for a Clinical lead on Hamsterley Ward at Auckland Park hospital.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who hold current professional registration with the NMC. You will be professionally accountable and responsible for the delivery of clinical care within the ward team with the focus on positive behavioural support to patients.
Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
This exciting and challenging role will afford the opportunity to work as part of a supportive team that is focused on delivering high standards of care through evidenced based practice. You will be in a key role within the team and alongside other members of the leadership team, ensuring the overall aims and purpose of the ward are clear and that patient safety is paramount.You will carry out assigned tasks involving direct care and will be required to work rotational days and night shifts.
Main duties of the jobSuccessful applicant will be working with patients on the female organic assessment unit, providing clinical leadership to a core team of staff. The successful applicants should have a person centered values base, have skills in identifying strategies and plans for future care, maximizing individual's strengths and minimizing the impact of their needs on their daily lives.
You will need excellent communication skills and be calm, confident and resilient in your approach. You will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships with people with mental health needs. You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed individuals and will become part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Person SpecificationQualificationsCurrent professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council. RMNH/RNLDEvidence of Continuing Professional DevelopmentRecognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 monthsTrained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 monthsExperience18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework)Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carersProviding clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriateSupervising or assessing students on practice placement.Working in a multi-disciplinary teamQuality improvement activitiesKnowledgeDemonstrable knowledge to post-graduate level of evidence based practice in caring for patients in the designated fieldUnderstanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.Clinical Governance and its application in practice.Research and development methodology.Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment.Working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injectionsDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
