The Inspectorate is part of the Department of Corrections, but functions independently to ensure objectivity and integrity. The Inspectorate provides critical oversight of the Corrections system and operates under the Corrections Act 2004 and the Corrections Regulations 2005.Nga kawenga | About the roleThe Clinical Inspector is responsible for providing clinical advice and support across all relevant investigations and inspections completed by the Office of the Inspectorate. The position will work with the Principal Clinical Inspector to provide oversight and monitoring of prison health services, ensuring that appropriate prisoner-centric clinical procedures, systems and quality control processes are developed and maintained across Corrections' sites.Please note, this role will require regular travel throughout New Zealand, sometimes at short notice and possibly on weekends. A clean, Full New Zealand Driver's Licence is essential.Minimum Requirements:A health care professional qualification under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act holding a current annual practising certificate.A relevant post-graduate qualification is preferred.Proven clinical knowledge and quality assurance experience at a senior level.Experience working in prisons and/or undertaking inspections or investigations and report writing.Experience as a strong team player, who can work independently as well as delivering to individual and/or team deadlines.To apply, please submit a tailored CV and a cover letter describing your motivation for joining the department highlighting relevant skills and experience.
