Korero mo te turanga - About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Engineering Technician to join and play a vital role in our friendly Clinical Engineering Team.
We are the first point of call for medical equipment issues and you will be responsible for performing the scheduled preventative maintenance testing and correction maintenance of all levels of Clinical equipment across Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley. This is to ensure all clinical technology and equipment within the District is to a level of performance and safety and is fit for the purpose for which it was bought in accordance to New Zealand standards and regulations. Additionally, you will also contribute to the effective service coordination and prioritisation of daily workloads between clinical services within the District.
Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) registration is preferred. However if you bring other desirable skills and attributes then EWRB registration can be worked towards. Achieving a pass in the EWRB practical assessment and written examination must be achieved within the first 12 months of starting employment. All other training to maintain and support clinical equipment will be provided on the job.

Clinical Engineering is a national function within Health Technology Operations reporting through to Health Technology Management (HTM).
HTM is a multidisciplinary field that focuses on the management of medical technology and healthcare systems. It involves the planning, procurement, maintenance, and optimisation of medical devices and equipment to ensure their safe and effective use in healthcare settings.
Mou - About you
We are looking for individuals who are electrical/mechanical and technically savvy. You will be well organised and have excellent communication/people skills to deliver the service.
We are looking for someone with:
Experience in the repair and maintenance of medical devices
Excellent time management skills
High level customer service/people skills
Self-motivated, and a self-starter
Strong team player
A current registration and practising certificate as an Electrical Appliance Service Person and a clean Driver - s License is desired for this role.
