The Clinical Director of Health is a pivotal role within our leadership team, tasked with guiding, supporting, and enhancing the strategic, operational, and assurance goals of the service.

This role is critical to ensuring quality assurance, clinical governance, and continuous development across the Pae Ora service.
You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, external stakeholders, and the Pae Ora Leadership Team to align practice development with Te Matatiki o te Oranga, our guiding framework for health and wellbeing.Develop and oversee quality assurance frameworks and refreshed clinical governance processes for Medical Officers.Provide clinical insight for audits, incident investigations, and responses to significant complaints or inquiries.Foster a collaborative environment across multidisciplinary teams to manage complex patient care.Ensure alignment with legislative and regulatory standards, including the Medical Council of New Zealand and relevant health acts.Strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including iwi partners, Te Whatu Ora, and the Ministry of Health.Commit to personal and team growth, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workforce.Uphold and integrate Treaty obligations into decision-making and health service delivery.We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary clinical leader with:A minimum of 15 years of experience as a vocationally registered General Practitioner (preferred).Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.Senior leadership and people management expertise.A strong commitment to nurse-led health services and collaborative care.Deep knowledge of evidence-based practices, health legislation, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.Proven ability to work with Maori communities and a passion for improving health outcomes for Maori.Excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset.A relevant health sector tertiary qualification.Postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practice (preferred).The full salary range is $171,819 - $242,568.
