As you will know, Clinical Coders convert information from patients' clinical records into alphanumeric codes according to a health classification system.
These codes form part of data collection used for research, funding, and health care planning, and as such is an important, valuable and essential function within Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora.
You will be joining a small established Clinical Coding team, and with the relaxed Taranaki lifestyle in a beautiful part of the country, this could be the ideal opportunity for the right person.
Mou - About you Ideally, you will have attained your Intermediate (or Introductory, if after 1st July 2019) Clinical Coding qualification from the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) and have a number of years of practical coding experience.
Depending on our response, we would also consider your application if you have attained your HIMAA Introductory qualification (or equivalent) before 1st July 2019 and have some practical relevant experience.
