Join Our Team as a Clinical Coach – Rotorua Critical Care Unit
Role Overview Rotorua Hospital's Critical Care Unit is seeking a Clinical Coach to play a vital role in mentoring and supporting our nursing team in achieving clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities Work alongside nurses in the clinical setting, role-modeling expert practice and fostering evidence-based decision-making.Provide coaching to new-to-critical-care nurses, including NETP, Change of Specialty, and internationally qualified nurses.Support critical care nurses in developing comprehensive assessment skills, critical thinking, and clinical reasoning.Ensure critical care nurses apply learning plans and demonstrate competency in delivering safe, patient-centered care.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and educators to create and deliver impactful learning and development opportunities.Additional Responsibilities: Spend 95% of your allocated time coaching in the clinical environment.Model and promote timely interventions, accurate communication, and high standards of care delivery.Support orientation programs and district-wide educational initiatives, including new graduate programs.Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages professional growth and development.Maintain and expand your own clinical competence and certifications relevant to critical care nursing.About You Advanced clinical expertise in critical care nursing and a commitment to promoting excellence in practice.Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to foster confidence and competence in others.Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.A dedication to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.About the Environment Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes provides healthcare from its two modern and progressive general hospitals in Rotorua and Taupo, New Zealand.
