We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters. The Clinical Quality and Safety team works across the sector to bring together clinical expertise from all professions and disciplines to lead and influence across the wider health sector. The team provides strategic clinical leadership across Manatu Hauora, drawing on clinical research and insights, and leading practice locally and globally, informed by its sector-wide clinical network. It offers a deep understanding of clinical service delivery and performance, as well as the clinical drivers behind poor or inequitable outcomes. Ko ake mahi - What you'll do The Clinical Chief Advisor is a systems level expert providing clinical input and strategic professional advice across the Ministry's priorities and work programmes, and across the wider health sector. Contribute to a portfolio-based work programme relevant to your skills and experience Provide senior clinical leadership, support and oversight to the Chief Clinical Officers, Group Manager and whole Ministry, in support of the Director-General and the Minister of Health Identify best implementation practice nationally and internationally and use this information to inform advice as appropriate Lead and provide expert input into Ministerial briefings, Cabinet papers and advice to the Minister. Provide responses to parliamentary questions, Ministerials, Official Information Act and other requests for information.
