Be responsible for the management of the Invercargill Community Mental Health team including clinical leadership and co-ordination, operational functions, quality and financial performance, human resource management, quality and risk management, and quality, clinical pathway development and other service delivery improvements within the ward/unit/service.

This role will work in partnership with clinical and other staff and will contribute to strategic and operational management in a way that is consistent with the organisation's vision and values.
Tasks for this role include but are not limited to:
Providing clinical leadership, coordination and management to ensure the safe provision of patient care, whilst acting as a positive role model.
Participate in service development planning.
Facilitating clinical practice development within the multidisciplinary team.
Ensure effective communication within service.
Effectively lead and manage assigned staff in order to develop and maintain a cohesive and productive team.
Ensure service delivery is provided within approved activity plans and financial budgets.
Manage ward/unit quality and risk programmes.
Lead in the process of change and instil a continuous quality improvement culture.
Mou ake | About you
Registered Nurse with strong clinical leadership and management skills
Proven experience working within the Mental Health sector
Post graduate diploma in a relevant field
Advanced communication techniques including conflict resolution, diffusion and mediation skills
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to be flexible and innovative
A clear understanding of the principles underpinning mental health and addiction assessment and treatment

Utu whanui | Salary range
This role belongs to the Te Whatu Ora/NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Grade 4 Step 1 ($126,124) p.a. pro-rata and Step 3 ($138,057) p.a. pro-rata of the Senior Designated Nurse Salary Scale.
