About the Role: Our Patient Safety and Quality Assurance team is looking for a Clinical Analyst to join them. This is a stimulating and varied role where you will be responsible for the measurement and monitoring of quality and patient safety for the Directorate of Nursing and Patient Whaanau Experience.
This is a full-time Monday to Friday position based at Middlemore Hospital, with opportunity for hybrid working. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement in healthcare processes through measurement, synthesis, and reporting of quality data (i.e., patient safety, effectiveness, and experience). Sources of data may include surveillance audits, clinical audits, adverse incidents, and administrative data including that provided by the Health Roundtable.
Reports generated will allow senior management and the executive leadership team to strategize for patient safety and quality. This position will offer the incumbent development opportunities working alongside a number of senior stakeholders and clinicians.
Who are we looking for? To be successful in this role, you will need to have a background in data analytics and reporting, preferred previous knowledge of the health sector or quality/patient safety, and experience of quality improvement.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, business, or health-related field or demonstrable experience Understanding of data management systems Experience with analysing and presenting data appropriate to multiple audiences Technical skills including knowledge of SQL, SAS and dashboard development (e.g., Qlik Sense) Strong attention to detail and a love of data A high standard of personal work ethic and time management skills Personal sincerity and integrity Highly skilled and experienced at time management and work prioritisation skills Proactive, inquisitive, and can-do attitude. The role has a level of autonomy and applicants will need to be self-driven to manage time-pressured work but also need to work as part of the Patient Safety and Quality Assurance team. Who are you?
