About the role We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised medical secretary for our Gynaecology Oncology team at Christchurch Women's Hospital. The key purpose of this role is to create accurate and timely letters from audio recordings and support the clinicians to provide the best possible care for our patients.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claims settlement, this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4.
Key Responsibilities Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, clinicians, and others accessing our services.Always maintain confidentiality and privacy.Use audio recordings to create letters for patients and clinicians.Ensure that any enclosures are added to letters.Ensure any follow-up actions are completed.Ensure accurate and timely data entry and booking.Follow MoH and Waitaha Canterbury Elective Services guidelines (Orange Book V3).Communicate booking details clearly with patients.Maximize clinic utilization and minimize cancellations.Manage surgical and outpatient waitlists in alignment with service requirements.Exhibit professional and proactive communication.Maintain a collaborative and supportive environment for the clinical team.About you Strong customer service and communication skills.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management.Experience as an audio transcriptionist.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Experience in a healthcare administration role.Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with public hospital systems.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
