About the Role: As an Administrator, Clinical, you will play a critical role in supporting Waitaha Canterbury's outpatient services. Guided by the Team Leader, Service Manager, and Clinical Director/Triaging Clinician, you will ensure adherence to booking practices in line with Ministry of Health (MoH) targets and standards. Your work will help provide timely, efficient, and patient-focused healthcare delivery.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claims settlement, this role has been mapped to National Band 5/Profile 5.
Key Responsibilities: Provide exceptional service to patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders.Safeguard patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.Accurately and efficiently enter and manage patient data following MoH guidelines.Prioritize bookings based on need, ensuring alignment with Planned Care requirements.Communicate booking information clearly and concisely to patients.Coordinate diagnostic test timing and pre-booking requirements.Schedule appointments using clinic templates to ensure high utilization rates.Minimize cancellations and maintain a six-week booking horizon.Support clinical teams with clinic preparation and outcome documentation.Surgical Waitlist Management: Align surgical waitlists with service priorities.Regularly review waitlists for accuracy and compliance.Consult with clinicians and management on waitlist queries when needed.Demonstrate positive and professional communication with all team members.Uphold confidentiality and deliver timely, accurate information to stakeholders.Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment.About You: Strong customer service skills with a patient-centric approach.Technologically adept and quick to learn new systems.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Proven problem-solving abilities and teamwork experience.Experience in healthcare administration.Familiarity with medical terminology and patient management systems.Understanding of cultural diversity and healthcare needs.Working for Health New Zealand: Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
