Pay range: $29.66/hr
Days: Standard Wednesday to Sunday, late/overnight from 12 am to 7 am
Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours of work per week
Job Summary: As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized environments to a high standard. This position requires attention to detail and commitment to ensuring the highest level of cleanliness. You will tend to a variety of establishments, including commercial and business buildings during late/overnight shifts with occasional residential homes.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general cleaning tasks in assigned areas, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and communal areas.
Dispose of trash and recycling appropriately.
Safe and appropriate use of solvents and acids for cleaning.
Restock supplies as needed (e.g., toilet paper, soap).
Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Follow cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
Minimum Requirements:
Hold at least 1 year of relevant work experience or a relevant qualification at NZQA level 2 (or equivalent).
Hold at least an NZ class 1 full driver's licence or international equivalent (convertible to NZ licence).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks.
Health and safety conscious.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Have clean police report with no charges pending.
Work Conditions:
Travel required within Wellington region.
May require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Exposure and use of solvents, acids, and equipment for cleaning.
