Classroom Teacher - Te Whakatipuranga School For Young Parents

Details of the offer

Classroom Teacher - Te Whakatipuranga School for Young Parents
Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.6, Start Date: 28/01/2025, End Date: 27/01/2026 (Project)

Te Whakatipuranga School for Young Parents is a leading Teen Parent Unit in Aotearoa. Underpinned by Te Whare Tapa Wha and tikanga Maori, we are committed to the development of innovative and engaging programmes to improve student engagement, learning and achievement.

We are excited to be seeking a teacher to develop and implement a new programme of learning. The need to support our rangatahi matua as they navigate housing, finances and citizenship responsibilities has become increasingly important. The programme will focus on the broader themes of social and cooperative skills, self-management, and financial capability.

There is also the expectation to teach another subject area (please state).

The successful applicant will:

Have experience delivering and assessing unit standard material (provided).

Have excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently work alongside other agencies who support our rangatahi matua and their pepi.

Be open to visiting our rangatahi matua and pepi in their homes.

Integrate te reo Maori and tikanga Maori into learning programmes.

Be genuinely committed to supporting the educational outcomes for teen parents.
