Burton Primary School Class Teacher Our lively school is a central part of our local community and our Christian values of friendship, compassion and reverence are evident on a day to day basis. Due to change in teaching personnel, we are looking for a teacher with excellent skills in teaching and learning, and experience of UKS2, to become a member of our team from 22nd Jan 2024 until the end of the academic year . This is a full time, fixed term teaching position. Everyone who visits Burton comments on the welcoming atmosphere, supportive staffing team and wonderful children. A commitment to working alongside the existing team and teaching experience is essential. This role is not suitable for an ECT.

Teaching:
To deliver high quality teaching and learning to pupils within their Key Stage 2 class. To inspire children with enthusiasm and a love of learning. To have a sound knowledge of the requirements of the national curriculum. To prepare and plan for teaching, taking account of the needs of all children within their class. To prepare and develop, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral arrangements. To use a range of strategies for teaching and maintaining classroom behaviour in accordance with the school policy and ethos. To assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils; academically, socially and personally.  To ensure that regular and effective feedback is provided for pupils, in line with school policy. To be responsible for the effective management of your classroom to encourage independent learners in line with the school ethos. To supervise the work of any support staff, including teaching assistants, who are assigned to work within the class. To organise the classroom and learning resources to create a pleasant, stimulating and positive learning environment. To ensure children's work is valued by managing the provision of good displays in the classroom. Help in providing displays for public areas . hall, corridors etc. To be polite, professional and punctual and set a good example to the children in personal conduct. To communicate and consult effectively with the parents of children. Wider Professional Commitments:

To participate in further training and professional development as appropriate, and use the outcomes to impact upon the teaching and learning of pupils. To work as part of a professional team. Keeping Children Safe in Education
The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
