We are currently looking for a fit and experienced Class 2 Driver to join our growing team. Using your skills and experience you will be joining the Council contract team to do collections of food waste in the Central West Auckland area. This contract covers approximately 80,000 households. The role will include operating a specialised food scraps vehicle five days a week and may include an extra weekend day when there is a public holiday. A bin assistant will help you complete the daily services.
Flexibility in start and finish time may be required. We offer our driver teams a prestart continental breakfast to help kick start their day.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
The collection of food waste as required, while complying with council contract requirements
Operating in a safe working environment
Operating vehicles in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to company policies and procedures
Accurately completing all required documentation
Our ideal candidate would have the following:
Class 2 drivers' licence with at least 2 years relevant driving experience
Previous experience in a similar driving role is preferable.
Relevant transport industry knowledge and experience.
Sound knowledge of Auckland roads will be an advantage.
Self-motivated and works to strict deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven problem-solving skills.
Strong relationship builder and team player.
