About the roleAs our Civil Manager, you will lead the Civil team of Engineers and Technicians, creating a high-performance focused culture through personal leadership, teamwork, coaching, and mentoring of individuals. Overseeing the delivery for the team - preparation of detailed design and documentation for subdivisions, roading, earthworks, drainage, and storm water design across residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
Working closely with our established clients, managing our growing key clients in the region and nationally, ensuring we deliver cost-effective and high-quality design.
Leading project planning and design phases, ensuring innovative and efficient civil engineering solutions are applied. Manage all size projects, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting deadlines and budgets. Maintain and further develop own client base achieving sustainable business growth. Fostering enduring relationships with clients and partners, maintaining a strong working relationships with all clients, stakeholders, and contractors. Actively contribute to the development and implementation of overall company strategies and regional business plan. About you Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent, with 10-15 years+ professional experience as a Civil Engineer working in New Zealand; with at least 2 years in a management role. CPEng qualified is preferred. Strong leadership skills, coaching team members, being a role model for promoting high work standards to deliver high quality client projects on time and within budget. An innovative thinker, always looking for ways to improve processes and designs for optimal outcomes. High level of commercial awareness and financial competency. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, empathy for others, sociable and friendly, with a positive drive and resilience. Experience designing and detailing civil engineering projects in Civil 3D. Conversant with NZ Building codes and statutory requirements. Design compliant with NZTA, NZBC and relative standards requirements.
