As an international company, we are looking for a Civil / Services Estimator who will work in Christchurch .
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years' experience working in an operations (front-line) role within the Civil and services industry.
An understanding of the work types/skill sets required within the Civil and Services Industry.
Ability to prioritise work tasks according to urgency.
Demonstrable experience in NZS3910, 3915 or NEC contracts or demonstrate a desire to upskill.
Experience estimating/tendering within the Civil and Services Industry.
Experience building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Estimator provides support to the Project Bid Team and Procurement Team by ensuring submissions are accurately priced and meet the overall quality and cost outcomes as required by INTEC's clients. The Estimator will support the initial project pricing stage and conduct tender analysis ensuring continuous improvement of pricing methodologies and processes.
Provide quality and accurate quotation and tender proposals that meet INTEC's requirements and support a quality experience for clients.
Key tasks:
Provide accurate quotations or tenders using relevant systems, ensuring tenders meet business margin requirements.
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to secure subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Ensure the relevant costing/pricing system and other pricing tools are kept up to date and accurate at all times to support regular reporting of ongoing and future workload commitments.
Ensure all estimation works adhere to the agreed INTEC processes and policies.
Assist in providing plant build-up rates for internal pricing to the external market.
Provide professional, timely and accurate services that meet or exceed customer expectations and build strong relationships.
Evaluate unsuccessful quotations and tenders for trends and/or mistakes.
Ensure appropriate documentation is supplied to relevant others.
Financial Management and Reporting
Responsible for ensuring that decisions are made within approved business unit budget and financial delegated authority.
Provide regular reporting to the Procurement Manager on the status of all quoted or tendered work.
Strong focus on identifying and suggesting ways to improve practices and processes that are hampering the smooth operation of the day-to-day running of the project.
Support the development of innovative strategies to ensure operational efficiencies, processes, and practices.
Proactively seek opportunities to save unnecessary costs to the project (without compromising quality).
Contribute to the project review process, ensuring problems identified and possible solutions developed and feedback to the operations team.
