Port of Tauranga is New Zealand's largest port and international freight gateway. In Tauranga, we boast a diverse and extensive property portfolio which spans across 190 hectares of land.Our facilities include the country's largest and fastest-growing container terminal, extensive bulk cargo wharves and storage facilities, bunker berths, and infrastructure to host 24.5 million tonnes of annual import and export cargo. This includes roading and rail networks, operational plant, buildings and amenities.An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Port's Property Services Team which is responsible for maintaining our asset portfolio both on land and in the water.We're looking for an enthusiastic and diligent team player with experience in heavy construction and maintenance.The position is performed Monday – Friday (40 hours) and reports directly to our Civil Works Supervisor. In this role, you will be part of a team of highly skilled labourers who work on a number of projects across the Port of Tauranga to meet our operational needs and maintenance schedules.We are looking for somebody who is fit, active, and comfortable working outside in all weather conditions. The successful candidate will also need to be confident working at heights and in confined spaces.To be successful in your application, you will be:Willing to learn new skills and effectively contribute to a team;Confident to work in heavy industrial areas;Able to work in both a team environment and unsupervised;Strongly focused on health, safety and the environment;Positive and approachable.Legal right to work in New Zealand, a full New Zealand driver's licence (manual), and legal entitlement to work in New Zealand are required.A forklift licence, heavy vehicle driver's licence endorsement (Class 4), Hiab operation and/or marine construction experience will be a significant advantage, but applicants prepared to obtain these as soon as possible as a condition of employment will also be considered.Port of Tauranga is a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
