Position Summary: As an ENGEO Geotechnical Engineer with a specialty in Numerical Modeling, we would love to see you come in and hit the ground running. While working with ENGEO's Senior and Principal leaders, you will gain geotechnical experience working on a wide variety of challenging, world-renowned projects. You will be encouraged and supported to manage increasingly complex and seismically challenging projects.
Primary Responsibilities Use numeric modeling to develop engineering recommendations for design and construction of private and public projects.Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, subcontractors, city agents, project managers (locally and in other regional offices), and peers.Perform well-defined field, analytical, and project administrative responsibilities with direction and encouragement from project managers and senior staff.May be assigned increasingly more complex, non-routine tasks with review and oversight from senior leadership.A Few Notable Projects Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, Los Angeles, CAMultiple Technology Campuses for Google, YouTube, and Facebook, Bay Area, CATaranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth, New ZealandTransmission Gully Highway, Wellington, New ZealandKaikoura Earthquake rehabilitation of State Highway and Railway, South Island, New ZealandOur Ideal Candidate Robust understanding of numerical modeling such as the finite element method (FEM) and/or finite difference method (FDM), including:Boundary conditionsWave propagationConstitutive modelsWorking knowledge of FEM and/or FDM software programs such as PLAXIS, FLAC, LS-DYNA, or equivalent programs in 2D and 3DRobust knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering fundamentals and Soil-Structure InteractionCoding capability in Python and/or MatlabEducation: M.S. degree in a relevant field, Ph.D. preferredExperience: 5-7+ yearsEarthquake engineering knowledge a plusProficiency in AutoCAD and GIS experience a plusRobust writing and communicative skillsMust be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environmentHave the ability to work and succeed as a team also while being resourceful when working aloneBenefits: Our most important asset is our employees. Salary Description: Approximate Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000
