Role Overview: As a Civil Engineering Technician, your primary responsibilities will be to undertake inspections during construction, assist with fieldwork for our geotechnical and three waters investigations, and undertake laboratory testing. This will include testing using a variety of geotechnical and water supply testing equipment as well as monitoring and recording construction activities.
Working alongside Senior Engineers, you will gain hands-on experience in project implementation, site investigations, and construction supervision. You will assist in preparing technical reports and liaising with clients, contractors, and local authorities. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build on your technical expertise while gaining exposure to real-world projects that shape New Zealand.
This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work outdoors. We encourage applicants with a NZ Diploma of Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Civil, or a BSc.
Responsibilities: Assist in planning and executing various civil and geotechnical investigations, including site assessments and technical reporting.

Undertake construction supervision to monitor and assess construction progress against specification requirements.
Conduct laboratory and field testing.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and councils to ensure project delivery aligns with CFP's high standards.
Requirements: NZ Diploma of Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Civil, or a BSc; open to graduates but experience preferred.
A hands-on and practical attitude to working.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Eager to learn new software and technologies relevant to civil engineering projects.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Basic knowledge of civil construction processes and methodologies is desirable.
A valid New Zealand driver's license, with willingness to travel to project sites.
