About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network.
The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system.
Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.
The Opportunity This role is to support the planning, delivery, and reporting of the Structures Delivery Programme.
The focus of this role is to ensure planned activities are meeting Level of Service and quality requirements whilst also improving asset functionality by delivering the right outcomes at the right time.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn how Structures Assets are maintained, operated, and renewed, broadening your engineering knowledge and skills.
This role will be primarily site-based.
What you will be doing: Design and Planning: Developing sketches, plans, and delivery designs for civil engineering projects, including renewal and reactive projects within the structures and traffic assets teams.
Creating work instructions to initiate planning activities, covering labour, plant, materials, and traffic management requirements.
Estimating material costs and ensuring completed works comply with specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.
Identifying risks associated with planned activities and facilitating discussions to ensure thorough planning.
Fieldwork and Testing: Conducting and overseeing fieldwork and facilitating any laboratory testing needed.
Performing field testing where required and reporting this through to the Delivery Project Manager.
Inspecting civil engineering projects and organizing and supervising maintenance and repair activities.
Collecting and analysing data and performing necessary computations.
Quality Control and Reporting: Implementing quality control measures on all projects, completing detailed onsite records with evidence, including photos and As-builts.
Meeting all contractual reporting deadlines by processing data promptly and accurately.
Managing the monthly external cyclic activity inspection, maintenance, and reporting.
Providing constructive feedback to the team on work quality and timeliness.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintaining consistent communication with stakeholders and the internal communications team to ensure customers are well-informed.
Team Engagement and Leadership: Actively engaging with the wider team to identify, develop, and implement innovations and cost-saving measures.
Collaborating with the structures, traffic assets, and stormwater team on all Alloy functions (asset audit, asset sheet, and inspection sheet upload).
Exemplifying leadership standards in promoting effective people management.
Motivating others to take initiative, exceed expectations, and challenge the status quo.
About You: Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skills: Proven experience 2+ years, working within similar administration or coordination roles; or Graduate qualification in Engineering.
Background knowledge of Structures/Engineering principles.
Experience with Planning Tool, RAMM and Asset Management Systems.
Excellent people skills and experience in the maintenance industry preferable.
Proven problem-solving experience/skills including working well under pressure.
Consistently demonstrates a can-do approach to work.
Ability to work Night Shift(s) as per job requirements (Sun-Thurs Night).
Organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
Able to understand and work from Network/Electrical and As-Built drawings.
Computer and IT skills such as excel, pdf mark up, word and project.
Full NZ Class 1 Drivers licence.
