We are seeking a dynamic Civil Design Engineer to join our Solar EPC team based in Christchurch. In this role, you will be a key part of developing detailed civil design packages, ensuring all contractual, code and permitting requirements are met, for the construction of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and Solar Farms across Australia and New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities: Understanding client requirements and developing compliant designs/scopes of work for the civil construction element of BESS and Solar Farm projects.Support the bid teams by evaluating proposals from external companies.Evaluate and provide optimal solutions for substructure designs.Complete calculations and determine dimensions for reinforced concrete foundations.Compare and assess methods used for testing soil on project sites.Conduct on-site PV system commissioning and trouble-shooting. Qualifications/Experience: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.3+ years' experience in a civil/structural design engineering position.Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Experience designing large-scale structural projects (PV projects strongly preferred).Ability to prepare quantity/bill of material list from drawings.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to succinctly summarize information for clients and stakeholders.Strong interpersonal skills with experience building and maintaining strong customer relationships.Experience working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
