CHT Hillcrest - Activities Coordinator - CasualJob DescriptionPosted Tuesday, 5 November 2024 at 9:00 amBacked by 60 years' experience, CHT Care Homes is an inclusive, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to taking great care of older people, while supporting our employees to do their best work.Our network of 21 rest home, hospital and dementia care homes are grounded in living our values of care, compassion, comfort, connectedness and community each and every day.We offer interesting and rewarding work that improves the lives of older people, and in turn we are dedicated to creating a rewarding employment experience where the vital role each of our employees plays is recognised.Key Accountabilities:Contributes to the assessment process of each resident under the guidance of the Unit Manager reflecting the individual resident's functional level, problems, needs and interests.Plans, schedules, implements and evaluates a programme of individual and/or group activities based on the residents' needs.Coordinates and participates in resident activities designed to promote social interaction, reality orientation and intellectual stimulation.Documents activity-related information in the resident's notes.Assists with escorting residents to and from activities.Maintains sufficient activity supplies.Develops a monthly calendar of planned activities.Contributes to the development of the continuous quality improvement plan for the Activity Programme.Consistently acts as a role model for safe work practices.Ensures that all incidents and accidents are reported in accordance with CHT policies and procedures.Complies with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, relevant legislation and regulations and CHT's policies and procedures.Attends and actively participates in team health and safety meetings.Ideal Person Specification:Is compassionate and caring.Empathy for older people.Experience with group activities.Ability to facilitate group activities.Friendly, polite and outgoing.Good oral and written communication skills, with clear spoken English.Good personal presentation.Interest in and commitment to learning.Willing to accept direction and supervision.
