Job Title: Chinese Cuisine Chef Location: The Village Inn, 24 Mokoroa Street, Te Anau 9600Pay Rate: $30 - $34 NZD per hourHours of Work: Minimum guaranteed 30 to 60 hours per weekNumber wanted: 2Type of Employment: Permanent Days required: Monday -Friday (Weekend Upon Request) Key Responsibilities: Plan menus and estimate food and labour costs, ensuring efficient and cost-effective preparation of high-quality dishes.
Monitor the quality of dishes through all preparation and presentation stages, ensuring consistency and excellence.
Collaborate with managers, dietitians, and kitchen staff on menu planning and preparation standards.
Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on cooking procedures, maintaining high standards in traditional Chinese cuisine.
Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes with precision and authenticity.
Uphold and enforce hygiene and food safety regulations to meet health standards.
Potentially participate in staff selection and training, fostering a skilled and cohesive kitchen team.
May be involved in food preservation and freezing for inventory management.
Qualifications and Experience Required: A valid Chinese Chef Certificate.
Minimum of three years of experience specializing in Chinese cuisine, demonstrating expertise in both preparation and presentation.
