Company Background: Highway One Restaurant, part of the Farmers Corner retail complex in Ashburton, New Zealand, specialises in authentic Chinese cuisine. We cater primarily to Southeast Asian tour groups, offering a unique dining experience with a buffet-style menu complemented by exceptional table service. Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction make us a popular stop for tourists travelling between Christchurch and other South Island cities. 
Work Hours: Maximum of 45 hours per week
Duties and Responsibilities: Plan and prepare authentic Chinese dishes for buffet and table service, ensuring high quality and taste. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and adapt menus. Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen.  Managing kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies. Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques and procedures. Participate in special events and promotions, contributing to the overall dining experience. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and cooking stations.  Qualifications and Skills:  NZQF Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent, and/or at least three years of relevant experience. Proven experience in preparing and cooking authentic Chinese cuisine.  Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
