About the Organisation:
This organisation started as a small GP clinic and has since grown to include two GP services, Pepi Ora/Well Child, Kaupapa Maori Nurse Services, Oral Health Programs, Mental Health & Whanau Centred Services. This organisation aims to contribute to the health of their community by being responsive to their holistic health needs, through a kaupapa Maori framework. By achieving a state of total and complete health, they know their clients can be confident in themselves to live life to the fullest and to engage in the wider world.
About the Role:
This is a permanent, full-time role within the Community Services and Development team. You will be responsible for providing essential healthcare services to the community, with a particular focus on infants and young children.
You will conduct health assessments for pepi ora and provide appropriate interventions as required, as well as developing and implementing health promotion initiatives to support the overall wellbeing of infants and their families.
With access to the fleet of company vehicles from either the Tauranga or Papamoa clinics, you will attend approximately 6 visits per day to meet the needs of our community.
Delivering high-quality health assessments and interventions for pepi ora (infants) and their whanau (family) within the community.
Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated care delivery for pepi ora within the community.
Providing education and support to whanau on child development, nutrition, and general health practices.
Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
About You:
Identifying someone with passion and experience working in community, no matter the environment is key for us to deliver on the culturally sound and inclusive frameworks that exist for Whanau, Tamariki and Mokopuna.
Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
Experienced in working with newborns, infants, and their families
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in conducting health assessments and developing care plans
Knowledge of neonatal and infant health best practices and guidelines
Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and competence in working with Maori communities
Commitment to upholding professional standards and ethical practice
