Our OrganisationTe Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has become available within the Child Development Service for an Occupational Therapist with an interest in working with tamariki/children and their whanau/community support. The position is 32 hrs per week (0.8 FTE).The successful applicant will provide high-quality occupational therapy through assessment, consultation and therapy services to children alongside their families/support network who are referred through the Child Development Service of MidCentral. The tamariki may be referred due to development delay, reduced mobility and cognitive ability.This role would suit an experienced practitioner who has a clear understanding of what type of services are needed by the children and whanau. Experience in working with a range of community providers and the education sector would be an advantage.The Child Development Service is based at the Palmerston North Hospital; however, it provides a region-wide service.
