This leading tertiary hospital is one of New Zealand's largest tertiary hospitals and is renowned for its teaching and research opportunities.
The Child Psychiatrist contributes to the professional development and supervision of the supportive team of Registrars, House Officers, and Students.
The Child and Family Unit and adolescent mental health inpatient unit work with young people from 0 to 18 years old and their families.
They are one of only three specialist inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service units in New Zealand, serving a very large region with a strong commitment to collaboration between young persons, families, staff, and other services.
There is also a 3-bed Mother and Baby unit, which is the second only in New Zealand. The Unit is situated in Auckland Central.
Roles do not come up often for SMO in this great service. We are looking for someone who is already registered or eligible for Locum Tenens and committed to being in New Zealand in January.
The successful candidate will have:

Experience and qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Excellent working knowledge of the NZ mental health field including relevant legislation
5 years clinical practice in Mental Health
Commitment to biocultural practice
Sound understanding and commitment to recovery principles
High standard of verbal and written communication
PC literacy
FRANZCP or Equivalent
