Job Description As a Chief Systems Architect, you will lead and manage several strategic initiatives within the Spend Clarity team.
This role focuses on strategizing, leading, and influencing architecture and technology across all of Visa Spend Clarity.
You will oversee and guide various initiatives, ensuring that developed solutions align with the platform's architectural and software target state.
Your role involves creating innovative solutions that provide value to clients in an agile manner while fulfilling broader architectural goals.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with product owners and delivery teams to understand their key interests and manage non-functional expectations. Work closely with a global team of architects and business experts to achieve our objectives. Deliver high-level architecture and design artifacts for large initiatives and guide development teams on detailed design artifacts. Ensure business requirements are translated into secure, scalable, and efficient software system designs. Prototype new approaches to demonstrate the viability of creative initiatives and technologies. Provide thought leadership on existing and emerging payment trends, developing a vision for specific solution areas with broad applicability. Stay abreast of new technology trends, innovations, and demands from Visa's strategic partners to enhance existing products or create new solutions with faster time-to-market. Focus on growing Visa Spend Clarity's capabilities and services to deliver scalable and robust solutions globally. Guide architecture and engineering teams across the organization to deliver high-quality solutions. This is a hybrid position.
Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office.
Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 9 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g.
Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 15+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications: 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g.
Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience. 12+ years' experience in a Software Development environment. 8+ years' experience as an architect. A high level of general technical knowledge including current, emerging and future technology trends and their potential business impact. Experience in leading cross-functional teams in the design, implementation and governance of complex systems and solutions. Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience in a way that is relevant, easy to consume and compelling. Experience of leading large-scale transformation initiatives, including the integration of legacy systems and modern technologies. Experience working in an iterative or Agile delivery environment, ideally including exposure to DevOps based build-it, run-it teams. Experience in leading delivery of complex, distributed, secure and scalable architecture solutions within a large organisation. Experience influencing technical strategy and leading execution of cross-functional initiatives. Experience with justification phase work – strategic product discovery, opportunity analysis, business case formulation. Proven leadership experience in leading technical engineering teams, preferably with a track record of successfully delivering complex architecture projects.
