The Chief Scientist plays a pivotal role in leading the development and delivery of ESR's Science Strategy, reporting directly to the Chief Executive.
This position forms part of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) at ESR, working closely with team members to ensure the science underpinning our critical infrastructure roles for Aotearoa New Zealand in health security and forensics is exceptional.
A nationally and internationally prominent scientific leadership opportunity exists to strengthen collaborative strategic institutional partnerships, especially with universities, industry, and other organisations locally and on a global level.
About You You will require an appropriate postgraduate tertiary qualification at PhD level in Science .
We are seeking someone with recognised scientific leadership at a national and international level .
Demonstrable experience in building national and international partnerships and leading collaboration with others is essential.
You should have demonstrable experience in the development and implementation of strategy in a science, commercial and political setting .
A significant amount of experience in leading and motivating diverse teams is required.
Proven experience of performing effectively as part of an executive leadership team is also necessary.

Requirements This role requires a salary of $250,000 - $300,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
