Council requires an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to continue the development and implementation of the financial strategies required to navigate its way through this challenging time while balancing the needs of business as usual and leading a team.Local Government provides a diversity of activities not often found in just one organisation, making roles like this both challenging and rewarding.
As CFO, you will have primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, management and running of all the finance activities of the Council.Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, you will also work closely with the Chief Executive to provide strategic recommendations and advice on long-term business and financial planning to the executive management team and Council.As a CA qualified senior financial leader, you will be required to bring to this role:An ability to create / develop the financial strategy and funding pathways Provide leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team Provide strategic recommendations to the Chief Executive, members of the executive management team and council Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting Oversee all treasury and insurance policy implementation Advising on longterm business and financial planningOu wheako -about you, To be successful in this role you will have:_ A leadership style that develops trust and respect Superior financial and commercial acumen Extensive experience, 10 years plus at a senior executive level, holding direct accountability for finance, planning and strategy Exceptionally self motivated and directed Analytical, evaluation and problem solving abilities Exceptionally service oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaborativelySituated in the heart of Ngati Kahungunu, the Hastings district and Hawke's Bay offer an enjoyable environment in which to live, work and play.
