Our mission is to support independent living, enhance the well-being of tenants, and foster a sense of community among residents.As a social housing provider, Haumaru Housing focuses on delivering tenancy services and maintaining properties that meet the needs of older tenants, while also addressing social isolation through community engagement initiatives. We operate in partnership with Auckland Council and The Selwyn Foundation. We are moving to actively seek new funding for the extension of our work in Tamaki Makaurau.About the Role:The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role at Haumaru Housing is essential to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organisation. As Haumaru Housing continues to expand its services in providing affordable and quality housing to the community, the CFO will provide strategic financial and commercial leadership, ensuring that all financial and commercial operations align with the organisation's mission and goals.The CFO will work in a context of a debt-market and constrained balance sheet to leverage. With oversight from the Chief Executive and Board, and working collaboratively with the Chief Operating Officer and SLT, the CFO will anchor the financial BAU requirements as well as advance the commercial framework.Specific Role Requirements:Financial Strategy and Planning: Budget development framework in collaboration with SLT, Annual Reporting, financial reporting as well as more strategic commercial debt-market strategies and business cases for extension of the work.Presentation: Ability to communicate to any audience in non-financial language including to our partners on the Board and potential future funders.Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, implementing controls to safeguard the organisation's assets.Funding: Lead funding projects to secure funding with both government and non-government agencies.Team Leadership: Manage and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.About You:To be successful in this role we are looking for a leader with the right heart for this work and demonstrated track record in a related area dealing with capital financing, property or infrastructure assets, and is strategic in their work. The person will likely be a CA with a significant track record in senior leadership and the ability to work alongside boards and funders. The complexity of the role lies in the lack of balance sheet to leverage for capital investment. The person we are seeking will have the right fit with our organisation culture and be a team player. They will have strong interpersonal abilities, will be technically sound from financial reporting and budgeting through to capital raising and diversifying funding.
