He Angitutanga | The Opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a dynamic and diverse organisation, working collaboratively with the Mayor, elected officials (15 Councillors representing six wards, including Te Whanganui-a-Tara's Maori Ward), and eight Council Controlled Organisations.
The CEO will guide the strategic direction of the Council, ensuring effective management of resources, services, and projects essential to Wellington's well-being.

We seek an exceptional executive with extensive experience leading a large, complex organisation.
You will bring an applied appreciation of how communities interact with public service entities, and how to deliver on ambitious strategies within a diverse and demanding political landscape.
Sound judgement, candor and integrity will be hallmarks of the appointee.
Organisational and community partnerships are also vital to this role, so the ideal candidate will excel at building broad, collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
This includes a strong commitment to mana whenua, whose voice will be thoughtfully reflected in Council's decision-making.
