Chief Executive Officer

Liquigas is a joint venture Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage and distribution company, with shares owned by three key industry participants.

(Note: an ongoing acquisition process may result in a reduction to two shareholders).

Liquigas plays a critical role in New Zealand's energy sector, safely and reliably storing and distributing LPG to its customers from its locations in Taranaki, Christchurch, Auckland, and Dunedin. It also organises the importation of LPG to its terminals on behalf of its customers. Liquigas focuses on its people and customers, valuing long-term partnerships for success, and prizes its ability to adapt and optimise its assets and business to meet customers' and shareholders' needs in a changing market.

Against the backdrop of the dynamic, fast-paced energy sector, Liquigas is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to continue its excellent record of safety, operations, engineering, and financial management.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of the business with a highly capable team. The CEO will bring a highly commercial and pragmatic lens to ensure the business runs seamlessly while injecting an innovative, continuous improvement mindset. The CEO will play a critical role in managing stakeholder relationships across customers, regulators, and industry partners. The CEO will make astute commercial decisions around customer contracts and asset life cycle decisions.

Key competencies for this role will include:
Proven experience operating as a senior leader in a similar capital-intensive environment, managing assets and operations of scale. Energy sector experience highly desirable.
A deep understanding and appreciation of health, safety, and well-being in the workplace, ideally in a high hazard industry.
Strong commercial nous and track record in delivering excellent results.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build a high-performance and high-engagement culture.
